GWADAR: MCC Gwadar conducted a raid on Gwadar coast and recovered 5,000 high-end mobile phones worth Rs210 million. Mobile phones were brought from Dubai via launch, and were being loaded in a Suzuki pick-up.
Information was passed through Chief Collector Gwadar Abdul Qadir Memon to Collector Gwadar Raza that large quantity of mobile phones and electronics will be smuggled to Pakistan from Duabi via launch.
Anti-smuggling squads and field enforcement units were put on high alert, and subsequently the smuggled goods were seized while these were being loaded in a vehicle under the garb of fruit crats.
Further investigations are underway.
