KARACHI: A bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Tuesday adjourned hearing of a case filed by Khuda-e-Dost, accused in a case of smuggling of Iranian diesel after assurance by the custom officials that name of the petitioner will be deleted from the interim charge sheet.
The petitioner/accused was admitted to bail against a solvent surety of rupees 100,000 by High Court of Sindh ten days back.
According to details, Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Pakistan Customs intercepted a Hino tanker carrying 8000 liters of diesel. Abdul Ghani available in the tanker was arrested and a FIR aso 164/2019 was registered. The present applicant was later named in the interim charge sheet.
Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the applicant/accused submitted that even in interim charge sheet no role was assigned to her client. The accused has no nexus with the tanker or else and hence was booked malafidely, she contended.
Today when the case came up for hearing all the respondents including Mahwish Khan, Investigating Officer, Muqarab Riaz Cheema, Preventive Officer and others were present in person. They assured the bench that name of accused will be deleted.
The bench after this assurance adjourned further proceedings till May 27.
