KARACHI: Justice Nazar Akbar of High Court of Sindh admitted an accused booked by ASO, Pakistan Customs, Ghas Bandar in cigarette and cigar smuggling case to protective bail against a solvent surety of rupees 50,000.
Muzammil Jamil, applicant was booked by ASO on 22-4-2020 after ASO’s raid at a Godown situated at Boulton Market leading to recovery of hundreds of carton of cigarette and cigars of world renowned brands including Dunhill, Napoli, Sneator Cigar etc.
The items seized worth rupees 25.2 million. The accused/applicant was also ordered to surrender before the trial court within seven days. The accused /applicant surrendered before the trial court i.e Special Court for Customs, Excise and Taxation here today (Saturday). He was represented by Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate.
