KARACHI: Khuda Dost, an accused in a case of smuggling of Iranian diesel was admitted to bail against a solvent surety of rupees 100,000 by High Court of Sindh.

According to details, Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Pakistan Customs intercepted a Hino tanker carrying 8000 liters of diesel. Abdul Ghani available in the tanker was arrested and a FIR aso 164/2019 was registered. The present applicant was later named in the interim charge sheet.[the_ad id=”32940″]

Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the applicant/accused submitted that even in interim charge sheet no role was assigned to her client. The accused has no nexus with the tanker or else and hence was booked malafidely, she contended.

The bench after hearing the counsel admitted the accused to bail against a surety of rupees 100,000 while issuing notices to the respondents for May 14. The respondents include Collector Customs Preventive, Investigating Officer Mehvish Khan, Preventive Officers Muqtarib and Riaz besides Seizing Officer Naeem Chandio who was being accused of threatening the applicant/accused Khuda-e-Dost.
