QUETTA: Customs Quetta has seized one non-duty-paid Mercedes vehicle worth Rs25 million.

The operation was conducted on the basis of information by a team comprising Deputy Collector Hamid Hasan Qambrani, Inspectors Zaman Mazari, Muhammad Rafiq and Class-4 staff.

The Mercedes vehicle was seized at Noshki. Driver of the seized vehicle (a professional smuggler) managed to escape from the scene. However, a number of miscreants gathered on the spot and created a situation wherein one of the miscreants stripped his clothes off. Moreover, the miscreants also blocked the road.

Nonetheless, district administration and police helped Customs staff to control the situation.

On the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Member Customs Tariq Huda and Chief Collector Muhammad Sadiq have advised Customs formations to keep strict vigilance on the movement of smuggled goods.
