KARACHI: The Customs & Sales Tax Practitioner’s Association (CSPA)  requested to Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief Justice of High Court of Sindh to  “take appropriate measures and issue  instructions to the judge for proper administration and dispensation of justice to strengthen the judiciary”.

CSPA earlier held an emergency meeting of its office bearers to consider the serious concerns of members with respect to hearing of cases before tax bench of High Court of Sindh.

The CSPA noted that principle of precedents was not given consideration and distinction was also not being made. The present bench as per roster will work upto Oct 02 after which new roster sitting will be issued by the HC with the consent of the Chief Justice. According to lawyers, one of the senior advocate expressed no confidence in the bench and despite directions refused to argue his case.

This is unpleasant and things should not go to such level, observed a lawyer saying that benches shall be respected in any case.
