KARACHI: The Central Selection Board (CSB) would convene on January 04,05,06, 2021 to take up the promotions of civil servants of BS-19 to BS-20, and BS-20 to BS-21.

Chairman Federal Public Services Commission of Pakistan would preside over the meeting of Central Selection Board (CSB), while Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would represent Pakistan Customs and Inland Revenue.

According to details as many as eight Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officers would be promoted to BS-21, while 15 PCS officers would be promoted to BS-20 as per the seniority.

PM Imran Khan will approve the promotions, and two weeks after that notification of promotions would be issued by the Establishment Division. There would be large scale reshuffling in FBR in the last week of January 2021.

An official said many officers had retired and officers would be posted on sensitive positions in Pakistan Customs. It was also known that officers with over one year in their current postings would be moved.

Chairman FBR Javed Ghani is set to retire in April 2021, however he will continue as Chairman FBR till after the announcement of federal budget.

An official said Cabinet recently confirmed him as Chairman, which is an extension as required by law.
