KARACHI: A dispute over classification of imported steel was referred to the Classification Committee of steel by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh.
Niamatullah Steel Works Private Limited moved the court against assessment by the assessing officer. Owais Ali Shah advocate appearing for the petitioner company said that respondents may encash the pay order deposited with them by the petitioner.
The bench after detailed arguments referred the issue of classification of imported goods to the Classification Committee concerned while the customs was restrained from en-cashing the pay orders till the report and decision by the Classification Committee.
