QUETTA: Quetta Customs recovered 435kg of Hashish from a Coach Bus coming from border area at Yaroo Check post. The estimated value of the said narcotics in international markets is around Rs100 million.

Information was received by Collector Irfan Javed that huge quantity of narcotics will be smuggled via Chaman-Quetta routes. Direction was passed to Additional Collector Yasir Kulwar, Deputy Collector Akbar Jan Gundapoor and Assistant Collector Ameer Khan.

The staff of customs check post Yaroo under the supervision of Superintendent Saleem Mundokhail and Inspector Muhammad Iqbal were kept on alert to maintain strict vigilance over vehicular traffic.

Accordingly, the staff of customs check posts Yaroo intercepted a suspected bus coach a,d search resulted in recovery of 435kg Hashish in wet conditions packed in one kg packets.

FIR is being lodged against the unknown persons. Further investigation in the matter is in progress. Chief collector Dr Saifuddin Jonejo and Collector preventive Quetta Irfan Javed appreciated the staff.

Moreover, large quantity of smuggled goods were recovered from a truck near Shaheed Abdul Qudoos check post. In pursuance of information, Superintendent Tariq Sultan and Inspector Ahmed Nawaz Zehri kept strict vigilance on vehicular traffic. Subsequently, the suspected vehicle was spotted and intercepted. The search resulted in recovery of large quantity of miscellaneous smuggled goods. The value of total seizure is Rs12 million.
