KARACHI: A clearing agent Muhammad Naveed-ur-Rahman son of Syed Asad-ur-Rahman of Ocean World Cargo was admitted to bail against a solvent surety of rupees 100,000 by a division bench of High Court of Sindh here on Monday.

Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner/applicant/ accused maintained that Messes Deezina Textile imported a consignment of “Lining” and the GD was filed through Ocean World Cargo services. The importer claimed the benefit of SRO 492/2009 which was allowed and consignment was released, gate out as the imported article was zero rated. The customs department later issued a notice for recovery of Rupees 8 43409 to the importer company with copy marked to the clearing agent also. The authorities later lodged a FIR 02/2020 without issuing any show cause or else.

An identical petition was also filed the importer. The bench after hearing the counsel for applicants admitted the clearing agent as well as importer to bail against a solvent surety of rupees 100,000.
