QUETTA: MCC Quetta in a joint operation with FC Baluchistan recovered huge quantity of smuggled goods worth around Rs100 million at Kuchlak the other day.

In pursuance of information of Collector of Customs Preventive, Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Quetta that a huge quantity of smuggled goods are dumped in khuchlak area and are being smuggled to Quetta and onwards into country.

A team was formed by Collector Preventive Quetta to thwart the attempt. FC assisted Customs authorities during the said operation.

Customs staff with FC North Baluchistan conducted raided a godown in khuchlak and seized huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled includingcigarettes, pan parag, tyres and electronics goods etc.

The said operation went on for several hours amid stiff resistance. Goods have been seized and further legal action is under way.

This is 6th major joint operation of Customs and FC within the last 3 months.

An official said Customs was diligently performing their duties despite very harsh weather. It may be mentioned here that the culprits expedite their illegal activities taking advantage of such weather.
