KARACHI: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of MCC Preventive Karachi has recovered large quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs3.39 million from a dumping place at SITE area and arrested two persons here the other day.

Information was received about the presence of smuggled goods at a warehouse in Shershah area. Subsequently, an ASO Preventive team raided the dumping place at Shershah/SITE area, Karachi, and recovered 2055 cartons of foreign origin smuggled soap (Lux and Pears) worth Rs2.216 million along with 300 bags of smuggled betelnuts, weight 6000 Kgs worth Rs1.176 million. Two persons have also been arrested and investigations are underway.[the_ad id=”31605″]

Chief Collector Enforcement South Wasif Memon has advised collector Preventive Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi to tighten vigilance to curb smuggling. Subsequently Deputy Collector Muhammad Faisal has launched a crackdown against warehouses keeping stocks of smuggled goods.
