KARACHI: Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) Sukkur of MCC Hyderabad has seized 188kg of high quality Charas worth Rs10 million from Sukkur city.

Information was received through Collector Hyderabad Khalid Hussain Jamali that narcotics will be transported through a Toyota Hilux car. Deputy Collector Preventive Sukkur Kaleemullah Wagan constituted a team to foil the attempt.

Subsequently, the suspected vehicle was spotted and upon checking significant amount of narcotics were recovered from the secret cavities of the vehicle. The accused namely Shafique Ahmed Soomro has been booked and FIR is lodged for further investigation.

In another event, ASO Sukkur seized large quantity of betel nut and Indian gutka and arrested two persons for transporting smuggled and contraband products.

According to the details, staff of Rangers Jacobabad intimated the Customs authorities that a truck had been taken into custody which was stuffed with smuggled betel nut and Indian Gutka. Subsequently, the staff of ASO Sukkur reached the spot and took custody of the smuggled goods, the vehicle as well as the accused.

An FIR has been lodged and investigations are underway.
