KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Valuation has issued four more valuation guidelines for the reference of assessment staff to avoid under-invoicing.
Directorate General has initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded, the international market.
During the scrutiny of previous clearance data, it has been observed that Glass Tubing of a kind used for the manufacture of ampoules falling under PCT headings 7002.3910 are being assessed at different values and certain transactions are on very low side.
Directorate General, after carefully examining the clearance data, also conducted market inquiries to verify the authenticity of declarations. Online prices were also obtained to corroborate the findings of the market surveys.
The reference values of Clear Glass Tubing of a kind used for the manufacture of ampoules of China origin are $1.05/kg of Europe origin are $1.71/kg.; The reference values of Amber Glass Tubing of a kind used for the manufacture of ampoules of China origin are $1.15/kg, of Europe origin are $1.81/kg.
The reference of values of safety pin made of iron and steel under PCT 7319.4000 of China origin are fixed at $2.20/kg.
The reference of values of welded steel wheel rim (other than alloy for motorcycle) under PCT 8714.1020 of Thailand origin are fixed at $2.30/kg.
Moreover, reference of Adjunct Hi liquid chemical for water treatment under PCT 3824.9099 of all origins are fixed at $5.84/kg.
