ISLAMABAD: Airport Staff of Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad has seized foreign currency equivalent of Rs10.4 million, which was being smuggled out.
Collector Arsalan Subuctageen is keeping strict monitoring on the movement of smuggled goods. Vigilance is also being kept on air passengers.
Airport staff took into custody Israr s/o Muhammad Amin who was travelling to Dubai.
The seized Currency is in Saudi Riyals=330000 and UAE Dirhams=42500.
Accused has admitted the offense and during initial investigation indicated his real uncle to be the real master mind who was standing out side the international departure hall of BBI Airport. On this info, Customs staff arrested him as well.
FIR is lodged under Customs Act and two arrests made.
Investigation and Prosecution Branch of Islamabad Customs have started to investigate the issue.
