Karachi: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh disposed of a constitution petition filed by an importer Rector International on a joint request by petitioner as well as Pakistan Custom, respondents.

The respondents included Federal Secretary Finance, Secretary Commerce , Chairman FBR, Director general (Transit Trade). Project Director (WeBOC) and Additional Director (Transit Trade).

The bench after hearing the counsel in its order noted that only grievance of the petitioner is that respondents without issuing any show cause notice blocked the NTN of the company. The court not that it has ordered de-blocking of NTN wide its orders dated 1-1-2014, 31-1-2014 and 21-2-2014. The bench also noted that respondents have admitted that they have not issued any show cause to the petitioner or initiated any other proceedings. The bench disposing of the petition confirmed the orders passed earlier on ground that there is no charge against the petitioner.

The bench parting with the judgment said that it is open to the petitioner to challenge show cause notice, if any is issued by the department.

The NTN of the petitioner was blocked on allegation that container having imported goods never reached the destination and went missing how-ever authorities failed to substantiate the allegation.
