KARACHI : Pakistan Customs at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) in Karachi foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin worth 200 million rupees from Karachi to Malaysia.

The Collector of Customs, Mr. Adeem Khan, received confidential information that an attempt would be made to smuggle heroin from Karachi to Malaysia. In light of this information, Collector Adeem Khan issued special instructions to Additional Collector Faisal Khan at the airport to prevent this possible smuggling.

Faisal Khan, in turn, instructed Deputy Collector Hammad at the International Departure Lounge to discreetly search and monitor passengers. Last evening, customs officials stopped a passenger named Muhammad Usman traveling to Malaysia. When questioned about any prohibited items in his luggage, the passenger denied having any. However, upon closer inspection, suspicious images were found concealed within the lining of his suitcases. Further examination revealed two kilograms of high-quality heroin with an estimated value of 200 million rupees. The passenger has been arrested under the Customs/Narcotics Act and is in remand pending further investigation.”
