KARACHI: A constitutional petition filed by one Abdul Basit through his attorney in a custom matter was dismissed by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh imposing a cost of Rupees 50000 upon the petitioner for mis-conduct.

According to details CP 591/2024 was taken up. Amjad Hayat Advocate, counsel for Petitioner submitted at the outlet that he has instructed the Petitioner and his attorney to be in attendance but none is present.

The bench perused the record and found that petition has been filed without proper power of attorney and merely on letter of authorization. The address mentioned in the court papers including letter head is different from the what has been mentioned in the title of the Petition. The bench also perused the report by Court Bailiff which said that no such company was found at given address.

The bench held that conduct of the Petitioner is not proper and despite service none is in attendance accordingly the petition is dismissed with a cost of Rupees 50,000 to be deposited in the account of SHC Clinic within 15 days. Failing which CNIC of the petitioner will be blocked by the NADRA.
