PESHAWAR: A huge cache of heroine powder was seized by Pakistan Customs at Torkham weighing 80kg and valued at Rs790 million.
An empty vehicle crossed zero-line. Upon entering into import terminal, the vehicle was flagged suspicious by staff of Appraisement Collectorate. During thorough examination, concealed cavity was discovered in the fuel tank. Moreover, the frame of vehicle was also found to have concealed cavity.
Both cavities were masterly welded. The cavities were cut open and huge cache of narcotics (heroine powder) were recovered.
This is the fourth such case wherein attempts were made to smuggle narcotics in Pakistan concealed in empty vehicles.
Member Customs Tariq Huda had posted competent and honest officers on sensitive positions, due to which the field formations have delivered exceptional results.
