KARACHI: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore has recovered smuggled auto parts from a warehouse in Shadbagh Lahore. The seized goods are worth Rs70 million.[the_ad id=”31605″]A information was received through Director I&I, Lahore Rabab Sikandar and Additional Director Mehreen Naseem that a huge quantity of smuggled auto parts was stored in a godown situated in Shadbagh, Lahore.

Deputy Director Usman Tariq obtained warrant under Section 162 of the Customs Act, 1969 from the Magistrate for search of the said godown.

Anti-smuggling staff comprising Superintendent Saifullah and IOs
Hamid babur, Sohail Murtaza, Fida Hussain, Ehtasham Naveed, Nadeem Ahsan, Tipu sultan in association with staff of Police searched the godown and recovered a huge quantity of foreign origin auto parts (HTV).

In order to conceal the actual description, tag showing description as Agriculture & Machinery Parts were affixed on cartons.

The owner of goods could not provide any record showing import of goods on lawful purchaser, therefore, the goods have been shifted to the Directorate and process of counting is underway. The weight of the Auto Parts is 57500 kgs.Total value of the goods is Rs. 70 Million (approx.).
