KARACHI: Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar of High Court of Sindh (SHC) admitted an alleged smuggler of Indian Gutka and betel nuts to protective bail against a solvent surety of rupees 50,000.
The applicant/accused Najeebullah was booked by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Pakistan Customs in FIR ASO 186/2018. According to complainant Pakistan Custom Officer, his party intercepted a Suzuki pickup and search of the vehicle led to the recovery of Rajni and Safina Brand Indian Gutka besides beetle nuts worth 20 million rupees.
The bench earlier heard Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate who contended that petitioner name was not in the FIR but was added in the interim charge sheet. The applicant is ready to cooperate in the investigations, she said seeking protective bail.
The bench after hearing the counsel admitted the applicant/accused to protective bail for five days against solvent surety of rupees 50,000.
