KARACHI: The Chief Collector (Enforcement) South has appreciated the work of the officers of MCC Exports in affecting recovery pending against M/s Gravure Packaging (Pvt) Limited through attachment of property.
M/s Gravure owned and managed by Jehangir Rehman, imported three consignments of packaging material in 1992 and 1993 namely “cellulose packing film” for printing and packaging purpose without payment of leviable duty and taxes.
Chief Collector in the letter of appreciation noted that a tremendous amount of effort has been undertaken during last 11 years by the officers of MCC Exports to recover the government dues of Rs3.683 million.
“These efforts, however, get impetus when the present Collector Manzoor Hussein Memon directed Sadar Amin Farooqui, Principal Appraiser to visit the premises of M/s Gravure to ascertain the current position/status of the manufacturing bond. The extra-ordinary efforts end interest shown in performing duty by Sanam Oureshi, Assistant Collector lncharge, Special Recovery Cell and Amin Farooqui are highly commendable. Such performance is certainly unique being unprecedented in nature,” Chief Collector said.
The Chief Collector also appreciated their efforts in other recovery cases and added that the said achievements must be highlighted while initiating and counter signing PERs of these officers.
