KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Jawaz Akbar Sarwana suspended order of the Custom Appellate Tribunal dated 19-3-2024 while issuing notices to respondents in a Special Custom Reference Application (SCRA) filed by Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigations, Pakistan Customs.

Khaild Mehmood Rajpar advocate earlier submitted before the court that Appeal before Custom Appellate Tribunal was filed by person namely Muhammad Hassan, who haven’t claim the ownership of impugned smuggled goods and therefore not an aggrieved person.

As per customs, shampoo of foreign origin was dumped at a gowdown at first floor of Al-Rehman Building which was taken into custody during a search operation. No person came forwards to produce documents of legal import at which the goods were removed to the DIT office.

The bench after going through the questions of law proposed by the applicant department ordered issuance of notice to the respondents  for a date to be fixed by the office of the court.
