KARACHI: Mr Abdul Basit Chaudhry, PCS (BS-21) Member Technical, Custom Appellate Tribunal, Bench 1 on deputation has been repatriated with immediate affect under a notification issued on 26.4.2024.
The said officer was part of Bench No 1, headed by Chairman Mr Muhammad Arif Khan and as per Cause List dated 29.4.2024 about two dozen cases were fixed before the said bench.
According to lawyers practicing at Appellate Tribunal, the notification is effective “with immediate effect and until further orders”. Further it required of the officers transferred/posted to relinquish the charge and assume new duty.
This is violation of an official notification and have rendered the proceedings of the Custom Appellate Tribunal Bench I challengeable, observed a senior lawyer.
