SSGC’s pursuit of gas theft miscreants continue to gain momentum with more than 1,045 illegal connections removed in Company’s franchise areas during a fresh set of raids. The Theft Control Team of Customer Relations Department and Security Services and Counter Gas Theft Operations’ teams went full throttle against gas theft miscreants in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Jamali, Maymar Hijri Zone, North Karachi. Gulberg, Nazimabad, Bin Qasim, Korangi and Landhi and removed 915 illegal connections from households that had extended gas supply arrangement from existing meter and service points through rubber pipes. Theft claims are being raised by SSGC to recover the pilfered amount.
Concerned raiding parties in Hyderabad Quetta, Nawabshah and Larkana cracked down on the residents who were stealing gas through underground and overhead theft clamps and removed more than 130 illegal connections. In many cases, fake meters were also removed along with illegal service valves. Theft claims are also being raised accordingly.
