Khuzdar: In a major crackdown on smuggling activities, the customs authorities of Balochistan seized three buses carrying 39000 liters of diesel at a joint checkpost in Wangu on 12/12/2023. The diesel was illegally transported across the province and was intended to be sold in the black market.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Chief Collector Customs Balochistan Mr.Abdul Qadir Memon and the direct supervision of Collector Customs Khuzdar Mr.Saleem Memon, with the assistance of Frontier Corps (FC). The customs officials intercepted the buses after receiving a tip-off and found the diesel hidden in secret compartments.

The seized diesel and the buses were taken into custody by the customs authorities for further investigation and legal action. The total value of the confiscated goods is estimated to be more than 56 million rupees, according to the customs officials.

The customs authorities of Balochistan have been conducting regular raids and checks to curb the menace of smuggling in the province, which causes huge losses to the national exchequer and affects the local economy.
