QUETTA: Customs Enforcement Quetta has issued the details of smuggled goods seized/recovered during the month of September 2023.
Customs Quetta made 147 cases during the month and seized goods including sugar, urea, cigarettes, cloth, spare parts, auto parts, betel nut, Gutkha, tyres, NCP vehicles and other goods worth Rs1.6 billion.
All field enforcement units of Customs Quetta are functioning under an organized mechanism and a coordinated check & balance system despite chronic shortage of resources.
Just the other night, Customs staff seized 4 trucks which have crossed Chaman border from unfamiliar routes and recovered large quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs80 million.
In line with the government’s on going campaign and no tolerance policy of Member Customs Zeba Hai Azhar, Chief Collector Baluchistan Abdul Qadir Memon and Collector Quetta Mohammad Ismail have instructed the team comprising Additional Collector Umar Shafiq and Deputy Collector Waqar Ahmed to activate field enforcement units, which resulted in remarkable performance.
