QUETTA: Customs Enforcement Quetta seized miscellaneous goods worth Rs267 million in different anti-smuggling operations in Balochistan from 6 October 2022 to 14 October 2022.
During multiple anti-smuggling operations throughout Balochistan, miscellaneous smuggled goods along with vehicles have been seized at different FEUs. The details of some operations are as under:-
• Acting upon a credible information, the mobile squad raided a gowdown / house located in Satellite Town, Quetta and recovered Indian Gutka -3425 Kgs having worth of Rs.16 million. FIR has also been lodged in the case.
• Polypropylene bags (70000 bags) along with transporting vehicle at FEU, RAKHNI
• Foots oil- 350 drum 69 MT GW along with 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, Darakshan
• Urea/Fertilizer: – 400 bags of 50 Kgs and 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, Lakpass and 730 bags of 50 Kgs at FEU Darakshan
• Chinese salt: 220 bags – 5500 Kgs, betel nuts 2680 Kgs, skim milk powder – 15 bags and 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, ZIARAT CROSS
• Fresh fruit: 2260 baskets of Apples having weight of 22320 Kgs were found concealed underneath 260 baskets of pomegranate alongwith one reefer container and 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, ZIARAT CROSS
• Cigarettes of different brands F/O 260 cartons along with 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, ZIARAT CROSS
• Black and green tea 82 bags total 3500 Kgs at FEU, LAKPASS
• 5x Ncp vehicles at different FEUs
• 6. Solar panels. 203 Nos along with 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, Dalbandin
• Skim milk powder 342 bags total 8550 Kgs, Plastic shopping bags- 4400 Kgs at FEU, SURAB
• Cashew nuts – 7800 Kgs, Betel nuts – 1750 Kgs, cloth f/o 5730 Kgs and auto-parts along with 1x transporting vehicle at FEU, NOSHKI
• 20 motor cyles at FEU MANIKHAWA
• Live animals (Goats/ Sheep) 300 at FEU, Manikhawa and Ziarat cross.
Total value of the seized goods in all the aforementioned operations along with vehicles is Rs267 million. Seizure cases have been made and further legal proceedings are underway.
On the directives of Chief Collector Abdul Qadir Memon, Collector Enforcement Sami-ul-Haq has expedited anti-smuggling activites. Sami-ul-Haq is a very experienced officer and known Baluchistan very well. He has also served as Director Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta.
