KARACHI: A ceremony was held at the Customs House Karachi to bid farewell to the recently transferred Chief Collector Appraisement South Wajid Ali, Collector Appraisement East Fayyaz Rasool, Collector Appraisement West Tahir Qureshi and Collector Port Qasim Ashad Jawad.
The ceremony acknowledged and praised the exemplary performance of these officers. The combination of officers comprising Chief Collector Appraisement South Wajid Ali, Collector Appraisement East Fayyaz Rasool, Collector Appraisement West Tahir Qureshi and Collector Port Qasim Ashad Jawad, made significant progress against mis-declaration and revenue evasion, and detected gross revenue evasion and mega cases.
The recent achievements include detection of importing and clearing of miscellaneous high value goods under the garb of donated medical equipment by misusing the ID of Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases (MIKD), causing government revenue loss to the billions of rupees; fraudulent import of used cars through submitting fake and forged Payment Realization Certificate (PR) and Encashment Certificate; and the mega-case of revenue evasion through mis-declaration of description, weight, quantity, value and origin certain importer of used/shredded tyres and their authorized agent.
Gul Rehman (BS-21), Collectors/Directors Aamir Theim, Sanaullah Abro, Naima Batool, Chaudhry Javed, Fawwad Shah, Khalil Yousufani, Ahsan Shah and other BS-20 officers; Additional Collectors Ahsan Khan, Javed Sarwar Shaikh, Ali Zaman Gardezi, Faisal Bukhari, Fazle Samad, Yasir Kalwer, Sadia Sheeraz; Deputy/Assistant Collectors Shoib Raza, Usman Tariq, Raza Naqvi, Faisan Badar, Quratulain, Asad Masood and several other officers were present on the occasion.
