KARACHI: The works at all courts of Karachi was badly affected due to over night heavy rain on night between Sunday and Monday.
The knee deep water inside Sindh High Court restricted entry and only a few per cent of staff could arrive to attend daily court work. The Registrar High Court of Sindh arrived around 9 a,m while only a dozen of lawyers  waiting  for court proceedings.
The work was later suspended. The indecision at higher level gave rise  to confusion as both the Federal as well as provincial government announced public holiday in Karachi and Hyderabad districts, but High Court officials decided other wise and ordered that courts will open as per routine. The Karachi Bar Association however requested all Session Judges to order suspension of work due to severe weather conditions.
No lawyer appeared in courts forcing adjournment of cases so also no case could proceed in High Court due to absence of water. The water was yet to be drained if courts are to be brought to normalcy again.
