KARACHI: The Ministry of Finance has slapped Regulatory Duty (RD) in the range of 5.0% to 90% on 611 different importable items including vehicles to discourage unnecessary imports, while RD in the range of Rs300/set to Rs22,000/set on mobile phones, according to Finance SRO 966(I)/2022.
Highest RD of 90% is imposed on vehicles. The RD on mobiles having C&F Value up to US$ 30 per set is Rs.300/set.
Mobiles having C&F Value above US$ 30 per set but not exceeding US$ 100 per set is Rs.3,00o/set
Mobiles having C&F Value above US$ 100 per set but not exceeding US$ 200 per set is Rs.7,500/set
Mobiles having C&F Value above US$ 200 per set but not exceeding US$ 350 per set is Rs.1 1 ,000/set
Mobiles having C&F Value above US$ 350 per set but not exceeding US$ 500 per set is Rs. 15,000/set
Mobiles having C&F Value above US$ 500 per set is Rs.22,000/set.
To note, the authorities have excluded energy, food, and export-oriented sectors from the ambit if RD to dodge any negative impact.
