KARACHI: A constitutional petition filed by Xarasoft Pvt Ltd, Penta Chem Pvt Ltd, Al Chem Corporation and Khurram and Sons, Lahore was disposed of by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh directing the department to treat provisional assessment as final assessment.

Imran Iqbal Advocate appearing for the Petitioners stated that only grievance of the petitioners is that the department after provisional release of consignments is avoiding final assessment.

The bench held that in this situation, provisions of Section 81 of Customs Act 1969 are attracted.

The bench dispised of the petition with direction to Collector Appointment, West, Karachi to treat provisional assessment as final.
