KARACHI: The Federal Tax Ombudsman has been actively acting upon his words, “I’m not interested in number of complaints, and I’m more interested in the impact of complaints by addressing the complaints of traders, industrialists and every taxpayer”.
Recently, FTO has ensured shipment of consignments failing which, could be resulted in the cancellation of LC and subsequent orders running in millions of dollars FTO directed the Karachi regional office on Friday evening (after office hours) on the complaint ,file through mobile phone, of delay in shipment destined to the world’s leading retail garments brand “ZARA” was unbelievable.
The advisor from regional office Karachi kept a follow up with collector customs Export Qasim throughout the Saturday night and ensured the clearance of shipment.
Federal Tax Ombudsman monitored the progress on hourly basis. This action of the office of FTO has set new standards of resolution of the problems of exporters (taxpayers) by any government institutions.
