QUETTA: Customs Quetta has foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantity of narcotics, and seized 420KG of high quality charas worth Rs120 million.
Information was passed through Collector Dr. Fareed to Additional Collector Moin Afzal regarding movement of narcotics through Yaro check post. Deputy Collector Dr. Zohaib Sandela formed a team comprising led by Inspector Ishaq George to foil the attempt.
Customs Quetta CIU intercepted one Toyota Vigo vehicle and one Mazda bus. Checking led to the recovery of large quantity of contraband concealed in the secret cavities of the vehicles.
Value of the seized goods are worth Rs120 million. An FIR is lodged and investigations are underway.
It may be mentioned here Member Customs Tariq Huda has advised all formations to take stringent measures to control smuggling.
