KARACHI: Hearing a petition filed by M/S A.R.G Enterprise, a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh ordered release of a consignment on securing disputed amount of custom duty and taxes with the Nazir of the court.
The bench also ordered deposition of un-disputed amount of duty and taxes with the Collectorate concerned. The bench noted that consignment is incurring storage charges due to dispute over valuation. It noted that petitioner has already filed a revision application under section 25-D of the Customs Act 1969 which is pending adjudication.
The bench while disposing off the petition No D-6568 of 2021, ordered that fate of the differential amount would be subject to the outcome of the revision application.
Manzar Hussain Memon advocate appeared for the petitioner while Directorate General of Valuation, Pakistan Customs was represented by Ms Afhseen Aman advocate.
