HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sukkur (I&I) Sukkur has seized huge quantity of artificial jewelry (Indian and Chinese origin) worth Rs96.1 million, which is the largest case in the history of Customs Sukkur.
An FIR is lodged against M/s Fazal Impex, M/s Ahmed Enterprises, Muhammad Ishaq and Muhammad Ismail s/o Abdul Kabeer (arrested).
Information was passed through Director General Abdul Rasheed Shaikh to Director Saleem Memon regarding movement of large quantity of smuggled goods. Additional Director Jamshed Talpur formed a team headed by Superintendent ASO Sukkur Ali Ahmed Talpur to stop the smuggled goods.
Subsequently, the suspected vehicle was intercepted near Shab-e-Shah check post, Jacobabad. Preliminary examination of the container was conducted, which led to recovery of foreign origin assorted artificial and imitation jewelry.
The goods worth Rs96.1 million along with the transportation vehicle worth Rs6.0 million have been seized and investigations are underway.
