Customs Quetta seizes smuggled goods

QUETTA: Customs Quetta has seized large quantity of smuggled goods in several operations near Lakpas, Rukhni and Dalbandin.

The smuggled goods worth millions of rupees were recovered from the secret cavities of a passenger bus. The seized goods include betel nut, gutka, tyres, cloth and confectionary etc.

Moreover, large quantity of Indian tobacco was recovered from a Mazda truck near Rukhni. Similarly, large quantity of tea was also seized. Value of the goods along with seized vehicles comes to Rs45 million.

Customs Quetta has expedited the anti-smuggling efforts to avoid smuggling in the garb of fruits and vegetables.

Collector Irfan Javed, Additional Collector Umar Shafiq, Deputy collector Akbar Jan, Assistant Collector Yusuf Mari appreciated the efforts of Inspectors Rehmatullah, Shabir Khan, Ishaq George, Zaman Mari, Mir Qalam, Asghar Kakar and others.
