SUKKUR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (Sukkur Region) has seized large quantity of PVC rolls and BOPP Film Rolls worth Rs3.75 million.

Information was passed through Director Sadiqullah to Additional Director Jamshed Talpur regarding transportation of smuggled goods from Baluchistan to Punjab. The staff of I&I Sukkur intercepted a truck near Rohri Plaza and found the above mentioned goods in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle could not provide any legal documents proving legal import and possession of the goods.

The ASO staff increased vigilance and a suspected vehicle was spotted and intercepted near Jacobabad Bypass.

It may be mentioned here Sukkur is a very sensitive station because of its geographical location and all smuggled goods are transported from Baluchistan to up country via Sukkur. Therefore, Director I&I Sadiqullah and Additional Director Jamshed Talpur have deployed reputed officers and officials as well as increased vigilance and strengthened intelligence network.

Due to these measures, there has been significant decline in the movement of smuggled goods to upcountry, while the number of seizures has also increased considerably.

Further, last week ASO of I&I Sukkur intercepted two trucks at Rohri Plaza, coming from Karachi to upcountry, and recovered miscellaneous foreign origin goods including cloth, confectionary items, shoes etc. Worth Rs15.33 million.
