QUETTA: MCC Quetta has expedited its efforts against smuggling and seized foreign origin goods worth Rs22 million in the last one week.
On the instructions of Member Customs Tariq huda, Chief Collector Enforcement Baluchistan Gul Rehman has expedited the anti-smuggling campaign and advised the field formations to increase vigilance and strengthened the intelligence network.
Subsequently, information was passed from Colelctor Quetta Irfan Javed to Deputy Collector Akbar Jan regarding movement of smuggled goods. In various operations, MCC Quetta seized large quantity of foreign goods worth Rs22 million.
A raiding party comprising staff of Dalbandin intercepted and seized a Zamyad pick up at Sarghash area near Killi Sakhi Dost Jan loaded with 2800 kgs of parachute cloth and 100 used tyres of different sizes. CIf value of seized goods along with vehicle comes to Rs.8.76 million.
Moreover, during routine checking of passenger buses the Customs staff posted at Dalbandin Check Post recovered and seized foreign origin smuggled goods i.e 90 cartons of Sensodyne toothpaste and 13 cartons of black Hair Shampoo. Total CIF value of the seized goods comes to Rs.3 million.
In another move the Customs staff of Dalbandin during routine checking of passenger buses recovered 56 bags of almonds with shell (soft) total weigh 1232 Kgs along with 35 used tyres of different sizes. Total CIF value of the goods is Rs.2 million.
Further, a raiding party comprising staff of Dalbandin at Sarghash area near Killi Sakhi Dost Jan intercepted and seized a Zamyad pick up loaded with 1800 kgs of ladies art silk cloth and 700 kgs gents cloth. CIF value of seized goods along with vehicle comes to Rs.8.2 million.
