KARACHI: MCC Port Qasim collected revenue of Rs512.13 billion during nine months (July-March 2020-21), which is 3.71 percent higher than the revenue of Rs493.77 billion collected in the same period last year.

MCC Port Qasim also surpassed the assigned revenue collection target for the period under review.

For the month of March 2021, MCC Port Qasim’s total revenue collection clocked in at Rs76.4 billion, which is 48.06 percent higher than the revenue collection of Rs51.6 billion in March 2020.

The Collectorate is following Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Islamabad’s policy of effective monitoring to combat mis-declaration, facilitation of trade through reduction in clearance time, open door policy for redressal of grievances and strict adherence to transparent and merit based decision making.

On the directives of Collector Port Qasim Ashad Jawwad, the team comprising Additional Collectors Ali Zaman Gardezi, Javed Sarwar, Mushtaq Shahani, Deputy Collector Wasif Malik and others keeping strict vigilance on the import and clearance of goods to avpoid any sort of revenue leakage.

The MCC Port Qasim has implemented an effective policy which has resulted in increased revenue collection despite declining imports.
