KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Agha Faisal issued pre-admission notices to the respondent cantonment board, federal law officer as well as Advocate General Sindh for March 10.

The bench was hearing a petition filed by a citizen challenging imposition of property tax by a cantonment board after imposition of 18th Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan 1973.

Earlier a counsel from law firm Franklin Law Associates appeared for the petitioner and at the outset of proceedings stated that the identical matter is pending before the bench in two petitions, CP-D1494/2019  and 249/2021 wherein restraining orders have been passed.

The bench perusing the interim orders passed in these petitions, ordered issuance of pre-admission notices to all the respondents for March 10 while restraining them from any recovery or else till next date of hearing.
