QUETTA: Importers, exporters and Custom agents staged a protest against Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation at NLC terminal.

The protestors closed the gate of NLC and chanted slogans against the Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

The protestors claimed the activities of Customs I&I Quetta were adversely impacting the legal trade activities. They claimed Customs I&I was taking action against the traders despite of duty and taxes while cases were being made against legally imported vehicles.

The protestors demanded of Federal Government to take immediate action in this regard protect the business community against the economic slaughter.

The protestors demanded immediate transfer of Director Customs I&I Quetta adding the protest would continue unless the Director was transferred.

Talking to newsmen, Alamgir Durrani of Importers, Exporters and Clearing Agents Association said Director I&I Quetta was over-using his authorities and was adversely impacting the trade and allied activities.

It may be mentioned here the traders and agents in Baluchistan have closed their business activities for two days as a protest against Customs I&I Quetta.

Abdul Rehman Shah, Aimal Khan, Najeeb Tareen and Haji Fojan said over 300 export vehicles were stuck-up because of the high-handedness of Customs I&I Quetta.
