QUETTA: Customs Quetta has recovered a large quantity of smuggled goods from vehicle going to Karachi at Lakpas Check Post.
Information was passed through Collector Quetta Irfan Javed to Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar that certain smugglers would attempt to transport smuggled goods to Karachi.
Subsequently, Deputy Collector Akbar Jan alerted all the check posts including Lakpas. The suspected vehicle was spotted and stopped.
Inspector Jamil Kakar conducted checking of the vehicles and large quantity of smuggled goods including Cloth, tyres, cigarettes etc were recovered. The value of the recovered goods is approximately Rs10 million.
It may be mentioned here that Lakpas is a busy post and hundreds of vehicles carrying edibles as well as other goods pass through Lakpas to Karachi and other parts of the country.
