KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan issued notices to the respondent custom officials in a petition filed by owner of a dumper truck allegedly carrying smuggled Iranian diesel.

Aurangzeb, owner of the truck filed the petition through Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate who informed the bench that tribunal has ordered release of the vehicle on payment of 20 per cent redumption fine but custom authorities are not honoring the judgment. The dumper was intercepted by the Surjani Town police on 19-7-2018 who handed it over to the DIT, Pakistan Customs.

The bench after hearing the counsel for petitioner ordered issuance of notice to the respondents adjourning it for three weeks.
