KARACHI: The hearing of a Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA) filed by Collector Customs Hyderabad was adjourned till Aug 26 by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan after initial hearing.

Abdul Qayyum, owner and importer of polyester fabric from China was respondent in the case. The SCRA was filed against order of the Special Customs Appellate tribunal which ordered release of cloth confiscated by Hyderabad Collectorate. The tribunal ordered release of 20 per cent of the consignment conditionally while rest was to be released unconditionally. The respondent/owner is represented by Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate while Khalid Rajper advocate is representing the department.
