KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh disposed of a petition filed by General Service (Pvt) Ltd directing the authorities concerned to consider the application of petitioner company for extension of license.

The bench earlier heard Khawaja Shamsul Islam Advocate who informed the court that respondents have filed final challans in four FIR’s registered against them. He contended that under the garb of FIR’s and taking refuge behind order of single judge, the license for bonded warehouse was not being extended effecting the business of the petitioner. We have offered forensic audit even but no heed was being paid to us, he contended

Khalid Rajper advocate appearing for the persons defended the action by the authorities and said the issue involves replacement of goods worth rupees 743 million.

The bench after looking into the record held that already protection against any coercive action has been provided to the petitioners. It was also observed that officials may have been involved in such removal.

The bench later disposed of the petition with the direction to the authorities to consider the application for extension of license “in accordance with law”. The court left the accepting or rejection of the application to the officials concerned on the basis of material before them and strictly as per law.
