KARACHI: The Chairman FBR, Collector Customs, Assistant Collector Customs, Appraisement, East and Director General Valuation were put on notice for Dec 10 by a division bench of High Court of Sindh in a petition filed by Standard Enterprises Pvt Limited which imported tyres from Turkey.

The bench earlier heard a counsel from Franklin Law Associates who submitted that the petitioner declared value as per Valuation Ruling 1320 0f 2018 dated 30-8-2018 but custom authorities instead of releasing consignments have issued notice to the petitioner under section 25 (C) of the Customs Act 1969.

The custom gave option to the petitioner to match the highest offer for purchase of goods, however neither the petitioner was confronted with any such order nor the ingredients of section 24 (C) of the Customs Act are attracted whereas per combined judgment in a reported case Global Trade Link this issue has already been covered.

The bench noting the same ordered issuance of pre-admission notices to the respondents for Dec 10.
