LONDON: Maxima Bulgaria, owned by Maxima Grupė, has received an approval by the Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) regarding rental of the stores from the local retail chain Triumph.
The stores are situated in the city of Plovdiv, the second biggest city of the country.
Having received the CPC’s decision, Maxima Bulgaria shortly is going to proceed with the integration of the supermarkets into the T-MARKET network. A part of the completely refurbished stores will be opened within a few months.
Such decision is a part of a long-term Maxima Bulgaria strategy for T-MARKET‘s development, which in recent years has been marked by active expansion and implementation of new store formats. T-MARKET focus will remain on a good selection of products and attractive promotions.
Triumph is a local Bulgarian grocery chain operating in Plovdiv since 2000. So far, the retail chain has 11 stores located in all districts of the city.
Maxima Bulgaria operates 73 stores in 38 Bulgarian cities. In the first half of 2019, compared with the same period last year, Maxima Bulgaria’s revenue increased by 15,2% up to EUR 71,5 million and EBITDA reached EUR 1,6 million.
