KARACHI: Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi, Irfan Jawaid has put a temporary hold on the transfer of Superintendent ASO Irshad Shah and advised him to complete his pending cases in the next few days.

Irshad Shah has been leading ASO, and has been quite efficient against smuggling.

Shah was reassigned on July 5, however Director Irfan Jawaid has advised him to continue as Superintendent ASO to complete his pending investigation and cases in the next few days.

Irshad foiled numerous attempts of transporting smuggled goods, and seized large quantity of smuggled goods including vehicles, areca nut, cloth etc.

It may be mentioned here that FBR is undertaking the largest ever shake-up in Pakistan Customs and across the board large scale reshuffling are anticipated in few days.

This shake up has not been kept limited to low grade positions but 84 posts in BS-17 to BS-21 have also been re-deployed. The historical shake up will dislodge the well entrenched officials in various positions.
