KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi on Monday ordered issuance of notices to custom officials of Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) for detaining a Toyota Premio car.

The car was detained on pre-text that occupants of the said vehicle were covering a number of trucks from which ASO recovered betel nuts, Indian gutka etc.

Appearing for petitioner Muhammad Ali, Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate said that car was not involved in any illegal activity and had no connection with the truck carrying banned items.

The bench after hearing initial arguments ordered issuance of notice to respondent officials for April 12.
